Antonelli and Bearman Lead F1 Penalty Points Ahead of Dutch GP

Formula 1 continues to operate a penalty points system linked to drivers’ Super Licences. Points are awarded for various sporting infringements and are intended to encourage greater discipline among drivers during Grand Prix weekends.In 2026, the FIA has adopted a noticeably more lenient approach to penalties, with only a limited number of drivers having accumulated penalty points so far this season. Kimi Antonelli is among those who have received points, including for failing to reduce his speed sufficiently in a yellow-flag zone.Ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, 11 drivers still have active penalty points on their Super Licences. Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman currently lead the standings, with four points each.The overall number of active penalty points has gradually declined throughout the season, as points are removed from drivers’ licences after the designated period. As a result, most drivers currently face a relatively low risk of reaching the FIA’s 12-point threshold, which would result in a race ban.However, Antonelli and Bearman are currently in the most vulnerable position among the drivers with active points. Any further infringement could increase their totals and bring them closer to the FIA’s 12-point suspension threshold.
