Formula 1 Confirms Talks to Bring Back German Grand Prix at Hockenheim

Formula 1 is considering the return of the German Grand Prix in the medium term. Stefano Domenicali has confirmed that Formula 1 has resumed discussions with German representatives and is already exploring the possibility of bringing the race back to Hockenheim.No specific timeframe has been set at this stage. Funding remains the main obstacle, although the circuit's management is optimistic about the prospects. According to Hockenheimring Managing Director Jorn Teske, there is genuine interest from Formula 1 in returning to Germany.The circuit's new owners, emodrom event services GmbH, plan to invest around €250 million in the redevelopment and modernisation of the venue through to 2034. However, a German Grand Prix is unlikely to return within the next two seasons, as agreements with the existing circuits are already in place.In the longer term, the German Grand Prix could potentially return as part of a rotation agreement with another European round. Support from Audi could also prove significant, with the German manufacturer entering Formula 1 as a works team from the 2026 season.
