Nazim Sadykhov Arrives in Baku: Ready to Make History Again

Azerbaijani UFC fighter Nazim Sadykhov has arrived in Baku ahead of his bout against Brazil’s Matheus Camilo at UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres, scheduled for June 27.

The athlete received a warm welcome from friends and fans at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

“I’m very happy to be back in Baku and ready to make history again. My teammates and strong sparring partners have joined me for the final stage of preparation. This week we will complete our training camp, while next week will be dedicated to cutting weight. There isn’t much time left before the fight, so it is important to finish our preparation in the best possible way. We still have around ten days of hard work ahead of us, and we intend to make the most of them,” Sadykhov said.

The Azerbaijani fighter also reflected on his appearance at last year’s UFC Fight Night event in Baku and spoke about his goals for this year's contest.

“Last year was a great experience, but my goal now is to perform even better. We want to make this occasion bigger, better and more memorable,” he added.

Sadykhov thanked fans for their continued support and encouraged them to attend the event and support Azerbaijani fighters competing on home soil.

“The Black Wolf is happy to be back home. Don’t miss it an exciting show awaits you. We’re going to put on a spectacular fight, and I will make history once again. Thank you all for your support,” he said.

UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres will take place on June 27 at the Baku National Gymnastics Arena.

In the main event, Azerbaijan’s Rafael Fiziev will face Mexico’s Manuel Torres in a lightweight bout. In the co-main event, middleweight contender Sharabutdin “Shara Bullet” Magomedov will take on Michel Pereira.

Another Azerbaijani fighter, Farman Hasanov, will also step into the Octagon, where he is set to face American fighter Eric Nolan.
