Qarabagh Beats Copenhagen 2-0 at Home
Qarabagh football club has, for the first time in its history, started the UEFA Champions League group stage with back-to-back victories. In the second round, the Agdam-based team secured a confident 2-0 win over Denmark’s Copenhagen in Baku.
The goals were scored by Zubir and Addai. After two rounds, the team have accumulated six points and currently occupy sixth place in the group standings.
It is worth noting that previously, only in the 2023/2024 UEFA Europa League season under the leadership of Qurban Qurbanov did the team start the group stage with two victories. During that season, Qarabagh defeated Molde at home and Hekken away, with both matches ending in narrow wins. In the 2017/2018 UEFA Champions League season, Qurbanov’s team collected only two points and finished last in the group.
The Agdam club will play its next Champions League match on October 22, away against Athletic Bilbao.
