The Red Bull Racing driver controlled much of the race after claiming pole position in Saturday’s qualifying session.Charles Leclerc finished second for Ferrari, while Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli completed the podium in third place. Verstappen maintained the lead at the start, despite pressure from Leclerc, before gradually building a gap thanks to Red Bull’s strong pace.Pit stops temporarily altered the order, but Verstappen remained ahead of Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton after the main round of stops. Further back, tyre degradation intensified the battle for positions, with Lando Norris and Antonelli becoming involved in a close contest. The race also featured several retirements due to technical problems. Gabriel Bortoleto and Franco Colapinto were forced to stop after encountering gearbox issues, while Lance Stroll retired with a clutch failure. Alex Albon also failed to reach the finish. In the closing stages, Oscar Piastri overtook Hamilton to secure fifth place, while Isack Hadjar moved into the top ten by passing Pierre Gasly.Leclerc recorded the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1:35.202 on lap 41.Formula 1’s next round will take place in Austin, Texas, in two weeks, as the championship battle continues.
