Verstappen Takes Victory in Rain-Interrupted Singapore Sprint

Max Verstappen claimed victory in a dramatic Singapore Grand Prix sprint, securing his 14th career win in the Formula 1 sprint format. Lewis Hamilton finished second after gaining four positions, while Charles Leclerc completed the top three.Heavy rain delayed the start by 30 minutes, forcing drivers to begin on intermediate tyres after several laps behind the Safety Car. Verstappen started from pole position but lost the lead to George Russell at the first corner. However, Russell’s race came to an early end on Lap 2 when he spun and crashed into the barriers, bringing out the Safety Car.Following the restart, Verstappen regained control of the race and held on to the lead until the finish. As the track gradually dried, the intermediate tyres became increasingly difficult to manage, leaving drivers focused on preserving their rubber through the closing stages. The final lap brought further drama when the two McLaren drivers collided while fighting for position. Lando Norris attempted to pass Oscar Piastri at Turn 5, but both cars spun, with Piastri hitting the barriers. Norris was able to continue and reach the finish. The focus now shifts to qualifying for Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix, which has been delayed following the disruption to the sprint schedule.
