Max Verstappen secured victory in an unusual Bahrain Grand Prix, which was held this year at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. For the Red Bull driver, it marked the 72nd victory of his career and his first win with a Red Bull Ford power unit.
“It was a very difficult and rather chaotic race. There were already several issues at the start, with a number of cars experiencing power loss, so we had to wait for the situation to stabilise.We made the right decision by starting on the intermediate tyres. From there, we gradually built up our pace and tried to control the race. We were able to follow our plan, although the Safety Car later changed the situation on track once again.This victory is particularly important for us given everything the team has gone through this season. It shows how much progress we have made. I am extremely proud of the entire team, and it is especially rewarding to win here.This is also our first victory of the season with our own power units. It is a truly special and important achievement for everyone at Red Bull.”
