Antonelli Wins in Miami

The 2026 Miami Grand Prix stood out as one of the most unpredictable and chaotic races of the season. A revised regulations package, an extended gap in the calendar, significant upgrades across multiple teams, and adjustments to FIA rules collectively reshaped the competitive hierarchy. The situation was further intensified by weather concerns, with the race start brought forward by three hours due to the threat of thunderstorms.

In qualifying, Kimi Antonelli secured pole position, while Lando Norris won the Sprint race earlier in the weekend. At the start of the Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc surged into the lead, whereas Max Verstappen suffered a spin that dropped him down the order. Subsequent incidents involving Isack Hadjar and Pierre Gasly brought out the Safety Car, further compressing the field and disrupting race strategy.

Following the restart, Norris briefly moved into first place, but Antonelli quickly reclaimed the lead and established control over the race. In the closing stages, Oscar Piastri managed to overtake Leclerc, while the Ferrari driver slipped further back after a mistake and contact.

Ultimately, Kimi Antonelli secured his third consecutive victory, strengthening his position at the top of the championship standings. Lando Norris finished in second place, with Oscar Piastri completing the podium in third after a highly eventful and strategically complex race.
