Aston Martin Unveils New Safety Car at Dutch GP
At the Dutch Grand Prix, Formula 1 saw the debut of the new official Safety Car the Aston Martin Vantage S. This is the most powerful and fastest version of the Vantage ever produced by the British marque. The sports car is equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 680 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. With these specifications, the Vantage S can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 325 km/h impressive figures for a vehicle tasked with leading Formula1 cars under safety conditions.
Visually, the car features an aggressive aerodynamic package, including a new rear wing, which significantly improves stability, balance, and handling on the track. In addition, the roof-mounted light panels have been upgraded they are now brighter and more visible even in poor weather or low-visibility conditions, enhancing safety during Safety Car deployments.
Bernd Mayländer,the FIA’s official Safety Car driver, noted that the new Vantage S enhances his ability to respond quickly and safely during on-track incidents:
“This car is truly impressive in terms of performance. It gives me even greater confidence when entering the circuit and allows me to reach the required positions more quickly. I’m proud to be the first to drive the Vantage S on one of the most technical circuits of the season.”
The Safety Car is painted in the official Aston Martin F1 dark green, visually linking it with the team's race cars. The Vantage S will operate alongside the FIA Medical Car the Aston Martin DBX707 performance SUV, which also boasts remarkable dynamic capabilities and is responsible for delivering rapid medical response in the event of incidents on the track.
