Baku Shines Under the Lights as US Legend Cars Headline Legends
A thrilling motorsport event took place in Baku as the US Legend Cars race was held for the third time.
The event, titled "Legends of the Night", was hosted at the State Flag Square and organized by the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation (AAF) and the Baku City Circuit Operations Company.
On a specially designed track, twelve professional drivers competed in compact cars that combined classic design with modern technology. The nighttime race delivered a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere for spectators.
After an intense 25-lap battle, Adil Akhundov claimed first place, followed by Farid Guliyev in second, and Elvin Khudaverdiyev in third.
As part of the event, the final stage of the karting championship for young drivers aged 12–15 was also held.
This unique competition began with test runs at the Baku City Karting track from July 12 to 16, where the 20 best young drivers were selected.
On July 18, free practice and the qualifying round took place on a special track set up at the State Flag Square, giving the young drivers a chance to experience a real race environment. Ten finalists were determined as a result.
The 15-lap final, held on July 19, turned into a true celebration of motorsport. After a tense and engaging race, Teymur Rahimov emerged as the winner, while Rafiq Kazimli and Omar Shahmuradli took second and third places, respectively. All winners were awarded trophies and commemorative prizes.
The evening program featured a spectacular drift show, an extreme Stunt Show with car and motorcycle performances, and a freestyle motorcycle show—all of which delivered unforgettable emotions and adrenaline to the audience. The headline stars of the show included British stunt driver Terry Grant, holder of over 20 world records; Lee Bowers, the UK’s multiple freestyle motorcycle champion; and professional drift driver Neil Gaughan from Ireland.
Held under the open sky, the event became a true festival of motorsport.
