Bearman May Miss Grid Start

Oliver Bearman qualified 19th for the Dutch Grand Prix, but his participation in the race is now uncertain he may be required to start from the pit lane due to a potential regulatory breach by the Haas F1 Team.

According to FIA Technical Delegate Jo Bauer, the team is under investigation for a possible violation of Article 40.6 of the Sporting Regulations. The issue arose when, two hours after the conclusion of qualifying, Bearman’s car in parc fermé was not covered with the mandatory protective sheet, as stipulated by the rules. As a result, FIA inspectors were unable to properly seal the car.

Such infringements by the team are automatically extended to the driver. It is also possible that Haas made this decision deliberately, potentially planning modifications to the car after qualifying.
