Bottas Rejoins Mercedes as 2025 Reserve

35-year-old Finnish racing driver Valtteri Bottas is set to return to the Mercedes team, where he will take on the role of reserve driver for the 2025 season.

“I can finally answer the question that’s been on my mind for the past few months. Next season, I’ll be rejoining the Mercedes family as the team’s third driver and I’m genuinely excited about this opportunity. I want to sincerely thank everyone in Brackley and all those behind the ‘Three-Pointed Star’ for welcoming me back with open arms.

The last few years have been challenging, but I still believe I have much to offer Formula 1. Ever since I was five years old, growing up in Nastola, Finland, I’ve dreamed of reaching the highest levels of motorsport. Over the course of 12 seasons in Formula 1, I’ve had many memorable and meaningful moments.

Now, returning to the team where so many of those highlights were achieved, I’m eager to apply everything I’ve learned to help Mercedes once again fight for the World Championship,” Bottas stated.
