Cadillac Unveils Race Engineers
Cadillac continues its preparations for its Formula 1 debut, which is set to take place in just two and a half months. The American team has announced key appointments within its race engineering structure, naming the race engineers for Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, as well as its chief race engineer.
The role of chief race engineer has been assigned to Javi Marcos, the former race engineer of Charles Leclerc. The Spanish engineer worked with the Ferrari driver from 2019 and previously held Formula 1 roles with HRT and Williams. In 2025, Marcos joined Cadillac as technical director for its endurance racing programmes in IMSA and the FIA WEC, and he has now shifted his focus to the team’s Formula 1 project.
John Howard has been appointed as Valtteri Bottas’s race engineer, bringing more than 15 years of experience with the Enstone-based team, where he worked with Pierre Gasly until the spring of 2025. Sergio Perez will work alongside Carlo Pasetti, who previously held performance engineering roles in Formula 1 teams.
