Catalan GP:Alex Marquez Storms to Pole Position
September 6, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, qualifying took place for the 15th round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship the Catalan Grand Prix. The battle for pole position was intense and delivered plenty of excitement for the fans.
The fastest time was set by 29-year-old Spanish rider Alex Marquez, representing Ducati. In the decisive run, he managed to produce the quickest lap of the session, securing the right to start Sunday’s race from pole position.
Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, riding for Yamaha, finished second. He posed a serious challenge to Marquez but ultimately fell short of pole by just a few tenths of a second.
Completing the top three was the elder brother of the pole-sitter six-time world champion Marc Márquez, also competing for Ducati. Although his result was behind those of Alex and Quartararo, it was enough to secure him a place on the front row of the grid.
As a result, Sunday’s race promises to be highly competitive: the Marquez brothers will line up side by side, while Quartararo will be eager to challenge them from the very first meters of the race.
