"F1 The Movie" out now in cinemas
Highly Anticipated "F1 The Movie" Film Officially Unveiled
The long-awaited Formula 1 film has finally been revealed, thrilling motorsport fans around the world. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, best known for Top Gun: Maverick and Only the Brave, the film stars Hollywood icons Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, and Javier Bardem.
The film also features appearances by real-life Formula 1 drivers currently competing in the championship. One of the project's producers is seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Filming began in 2023 and took place at actual F1 race venues. Specially designed cars were created for the production, equipped with 15 custom mount systems that include cameras, recording devices, batteries, and transmitters. The fictional APXGP team was given its own pit stop area and team bridge, while the race cars used in the movie were positioned at the back of the grid before actual Grand Prix races. The actors spent three months preparing and even sat inside the cars during race events.
The film’s storyline centers around the fictional APXGP team. Following a severe crash, retired racing legend Sonny Hayes (played by Brad Pitt) returns to the track to mentor the team’s second driver, young and talented Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris).
