Tyre Management Remains a Key Factor in Formula 1, Says Ferrari Team Principal
Effective tyre management has always been a crucial component of success in Formula 1. However, since Pirelli became the official tyre supplier in 2011, its importance has grown even further.
Ferrari Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur shared his perspective on the matter:
"Tyre management has been a key factor for the past 25 seasons. Everyone in the championship is fighting for the lead, and we’re all striving to make the car fast under all conditions. But much depends on the track surface and layout."
"As we've seen, it will be difficult to catch our rivals at McLaren, as they currently hold a significant advantage. On certain circuits or under specific conditions, we can match them, but in most cases, they gain six or seven tenths of a second through superior tyre strategy. That leaves us battling with other teams like Mercedes and Red Bull."
