Ferrari Loses Veteran Engineer Jock Clear

Ferrari’s chief race engineer, Jock Clear, has left the team, according to a report by Corriere dello Sport citing its own sources.

There has been no official confirmation from Scuderia Ferrari, leaving it unclear who will assume the key position of chief race engineer or what the 61-year-old Briton’s next steps will be. According to the publication, responsibilities related to the Ferrari Driver Academy, previously overseen by Clear, have now been fully entrusted to Marc Gené.

Clear joined Ferrari in 2015, bringing with him a wealth of experience accumulated over decades in Formula 1. Prior to that, he held engineering roles at Benetton, Williams, Honda, Brawn GP, and Mercedes. Throughout his career, he worked with several world champions, including Jacques Villeneuve, Jenson Button, Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, and Lewis Hamilton.

His departure could represent a significant change for Ferrari, given the importance of the chief race engineer’s role both in the team’s day-to-day operations and in the strategic development of its projects.
