Formula 1 Global Audience to Surpass 830 Million in 2026
Despite criticism of the new-generation cars and power units from drivers and teams, Formula 1 continues to enjoy growing popularity. According to the championship's official figures for the first half of the 2026 season, both audience engagement and event attendance have reached record levels.Formula 1 projects its global fan base to surpass 830 million by the end of 2026, representing significant growth compared to 2018. Fans under the age of 35 continue to account for 43% of the audience, while women also make up 43% of the overall fan base. Among new Formula 1 followers, approximately 75% are female.All 11 Grands Prix held so far this season were sold out, attracting a combined attendance of 3.7 million spectators. Record crowds were reported at the Australian, Canadian, Austrian, British, Belgian and Hungarian Grands Prix, while the Japanese Grand Prix recorded the largest year-on-year increase in attendance. Formula 1's fan surveys also show that 60% of respondents rate the quality and excitement of the races this season as good or excellent.
