After the White House: UFC Brings the Action to Baku
This weekend, the UFC will stage one of the most unique events in its history: UFC Freedom 250, which will take place on the grounds of the White House, the official residence of the President of the United States.
The event, scheduled for June 14 in Washington, D.C., is dedicated to the 250th anniversary of American independence.
A total of seven bouts will be held during the event. In the main event of the evening, UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria will face interim champion Justin Gaethje. In the co-main event, Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane will compete for the UFC interim heavyweight championship.
The UFC is currently completing final preparations for what is considered one of the most significant projects in the organization's history. The tournament will become the first professional sporting event ever held on the grounds of the White House.
Hosting an event at the White House represents a historic milestone for the UFC. Today, the organization is not only the leading promotion in mixed martial arts but also one of the most recognizable brands in the global sports and entertainment industry. UFC Freedom 250 is expected to become one of the most talked-about events in UFC history, attracting the attention of millions of fans worldwide.
While the historic tournament in Washington captures the attention of the global sports community, Baku is preparing for its next UFC event. Azerbaijani MMA fans can look forward to another spectacular night under the banner of the world's premier mixed martial arts organization.
On June 27, UFC Fight Night Baku will once again place the Azerbaijani capital at the center of the global MMA spotlight. Renowned fighters are set to enter the Octagon, while local and international fans will have the opportunity to witness the action live at the arena.
Azerbaijan is currently the only country in both the South Caucasus and the CIS region to host UFC events. Under the existing agreement, UFC Fight Night events are scheduled to be held annually in Baku through 2028.
