Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc Penalized for Incidents During Hungarian Grand Prix
Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc received penalty points for separate incidents that occurred during the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Gasly was handed a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his super licence for causing a collision with Carlos Sainz. These are his first penalty points within the last 12-month period. The time penalty was added to the Alpine driver’s race result, dropping him to 19th place in the final classification.
Charles Leclerc received a five-second time penalty and one penalty point for making erratic movements under braking while defending against an attack from George Russell. This marked Leclerc’s first penalty point in the past 12 months.
The five-second penalty did not affect Leclerc’s finishing position in the race.
