Lando Norris secured his second consecutive Formula 1 victory by winning the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, delivering a strong performance in the final race at the iconic circuit. The McLaren driver faced a challenging race but remained composed when it mattered most. On Lap 51, Norris capitalised on the battle involving Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton before making a decisive move to reclaim the lead. From there, he maintained control to take another important victory for McLaren.Reflecting on the race, Norris admitted that the result was hard-earned and described the victory as one of the most satisfying of his career.
“It’s a fantastic result. The race was difficult, and I made things harder for myself at times. But overall, it went really well. It was probably one of my best wins, and I’m incredibly happy to have won the final race at this circuit.I saw Lewis defending against Kimi and realised that the opportunity was there. I made a small adjustment to the brake balance because I knew I had to be very committed under braking. It was probably my only chance to get back into the lead, so I had to take it and thankfully, it worked. It’s a special feeling to win the last race here. I wanted to put on a show for the fans, and I’m very pleased that we managed to finish it with a victory. If we want to fight for the championship, we have to continue working and find areas where we can improve. I’m extremely happy with the team and proud to deliver another victory for McLaren. There are still plenty of races left and many opportunities for everyone. For now, I just want to recover, analyse what we did and understand where we can do better. We will keep working hard, and hopefully the results will continue to come.” he explained.
The victory was particularly meaningful for Norris as Formula 1 made its final appearance at Zandvoort. The British driver had promised to give the fans something memorable and was delighted to finish the circuit’s F1 era with a win.
