“I’m Just Really Happy to Be Back on the Podium” George Russell After Dutch GP

George Russell secured third place at the Dutch Grand Prix, helping Mercedes achieve a double podium alongside Kimi Antonelli. The Briton admitted that the race was demanding, particularly in the closing stages when he had to defend his position from a rapidly closing Lewis Hamilton.

“The start was difficult. I lost a position, while Lando and Kimi were very quick during the opening laps. Towards the end, Lewis was incredibly fast, and it was extremely challenging to keep him behind with the tyres becoming increasingly worn. I’m therefore very pleased to be on the podium, because the result could easily have been much worse.Kimi had been ahead of me for almost the entire race, so he deserved to finish in front. As a driver, you always want to fight for every position, but considering the difference in pace and tyre condition, I think he would have passed me anyway. From that perspective, the team made the right call. I’m just really happy to be back on the podium. It has been a long time since I last finished in the top three. Overall, it was a strong weekend, and there are plenty of positives to take from it. We have made good progress, and this result gives us even more motivation going forward.”
