Young Drivers Compete in Karting Races
Young karting enthusiasts aged 12 to 15 took to the track at the National Flag Square to test their skills in a competitive setting. As part of the event, motorsport fans were also treated to an exhilarating Drift Show and Stunt Show featuring extreme car and motorcycle tricks.
The winners of the race were awarded by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Mr. Farid Gayibov, and the President of the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation (AAF), Mr. Anar Alakbarov.

Following the race, young athlete Omar Shahmuradli shared his thoughts: "Although I’ve only been involved in karting for a short time, I truly love this sport. I’ve always had a strong interest in automobiles. The race wasn’t easy—at some turns, I almost went off track and thought I might have to withdraw. Still, I’m very happy to have made it to third place."
Main Race Winner: Adil Akhundov
The highlight of the event was the Legends of the Night race, where Adil Akhundov outperformed all his rivals to claim the top spot on the podium. Starting from second position, Adil took the lead with a strong start and successfully maintained it until the end of the race.
In the final laps, Akhundov faced intense competition from Farid Guliyev in the battle for first place. Despite the pressure, he managed to hold onto his lead. After the challenging race, Adil Akhundov shared his impressions: "This victory means a lot to me—I’m overjoyed beyond words. I’ve always had a deep interest in drifting and karting. In fact, my rivalry with Farid dates back to 2014. In most races, either he finishes first or I do. Of course, we maintain a friendly relationship, but once we're on the track, we are competitors."'
