Isack Hadjar will miss his third consecutive Formula 1 race at the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, with Red Bull Racing confirming that Liam Lawson will once again step in for the Frenchman.Lawson will continue alongside Max Verstappen at the senior Red Bull team after previously replacing Hadjar at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort and the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The New Zealander will therefore have another opportunity to compete for Red Bull as Hadjar continues his recovery.At Racing Bulls, Yuki Tsunoda will return to the cockpit and take Lawson’s place for the Madrid weekend.Red Bull said Hadjar is recovering well but has not yet been cleared to return to racing. The 21-year-old will nevertheless travel to Madrid to remain with the team and provide his support throughout the Grand Prix weekend.
“Following his appearances for the team in Zandvoort and Monza, Liam will remain alongside Max Verstappen for the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid. Isack is recovering well, but he is not yet ready to return to the cockpit. He will, however, travel to Madrid to support the team. Everyone at Red Bull Racing is eagerly looking forward to welcoming Isack back behind the wheel in the near future,” Red Bull Racing said in an official statement.The latest decision means Lawson will continue his temporary spell with the four-time world championship-winning team, while Tsunoda returns to Racing Bulls. Meanwhile, Red Bull will remain focused on ensuring Hadjar makes a full recovery before returning him to competitive action.
