Arvid Lindblad Reflects on Personal Bond with Lewis Hamilton
Rising motorsport talent Arvid Lindblad, hailed as one of the brightest prospects in the racing world, has opened up about the deep personal connection he feels toward seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton.
The 16-year-old British-Swedish driver is currently making waves in his rookie Formula 2 season. Following impressive victories in the Jeddah sprint race and the feature race in Spain, Lindblad has surged to seventh place in the drivers’ standings. Earlier in the year, he clinched the Formula Regional Oceania Championship in dominant fashion a triumph that secured him a coveted FIA Super License.
Born in October 2007, Lindblad revealed that his admiration for Hamilton began at a young age and was shaped by more than just on-track success.
“When I started really paying attention to motorsport, Hamilton was winning consistently,” Lindblad shared. “I also felt a personal connection because of our shared skin colour it gave me someone to relate to. What made it even more special was that his debut season in Formula 1 coincided with the year I was born.That created a kind of symbolic link that I felt strongly as a young kid,especially around the age of seven or eight.”
Although Lindblad no longer views current F1 drivers as idols, he expressed deep respect for their skill and dedication.
“I wouldn’t say I look up to any of them in the way I used to, but I have tremendous respect for all of them,” he said. “Their level of performance is incredibly impressive, and I genuinely admire what each one brings to the sport.”
