Noel Leon Wins Formula 2 Hungarian Feature Race as Championship Battle Tightens
Noel Leon claimed victory in the Formula 2 Feature Race at the Hungaroring, executing his race strategy to perfection and securing his third win of the season. Joining the Campos Racing driver on the podium were pole-sitter Kush Maini, who finished second, and Rafael Camara, who completed the top three.Maini maintained the lead at the start, but the outcome of the race was ultimately decided by strategy during the mandatory pit-stop phase. A Virtual Safety Car period significantly influenced the race, allowing several drivers to make their pit stops at an advantageous moment. Leon capitalised on the opportunity better than anyone else, moving into the lead once the pit-stop cycle was complete and holding on to first place until the chequered flag.Camara collected valuable championship points, reducing the gap to Drivers' Championship leader Nikola Tsolov, who finished seventh. Championship runner-up Gabriele Mini also lost ground after crossing the line in ninth, tightening the title battle ahead of the next round of the season. The victory promoted León to fourth place in the Drivers' Championship standings, while Maini celebrated his third podium finish of the 2026 Formula 2 season. The championship will resume in early September at the iconic Monza circuit, where the battle for the title is set to continue.
