Oliver Bearman has unveiled a special helmet design ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, which he will use during the Formula 1 season’s remaining night races in Singapore, Las Vegas and Qatar. The British driver explained that the design was created specifically with the atmosphere of night racing in mind, with the silver finish expected to stand out under the circuit’s artificial lighting.
“I’ll be wearing a special helmet in Singapore, and I’ll also use it for the night races in Las Vegas and Qatar. They are all such cool places, and I think the silver finish will look particularly good under the lights. The helmet also features several elements inspired by a lucky sixpence that my great-grandmother gave me many years ago. In the UK, a sixpence is traditionally associated with good luck, so hopefully it can bring me some luck on the track as well. I also want to say a special thank you to Tommo for helping me with the design.”
