Pirelli Completes 2027 Formula 1 Tyre Test at Hungaroring as Bortoleto Sets Fastest Time
Pirelli has completed a two-day tyre testing programme at the Hungaroring, focused on the development of prototype slick compounds for the 2027 Formula 1 season.On the second day of running, Alpine and Audi were on track, while Aston Martin conducted a filming day during which it evaluated an updated version of Honda's power unit.Alpine and Audi tested the C3, C4 and C5 compounds, completing both qualifying-style runs and longer race simulations. The hot conditions added to the challenge, with air temperatures reaching 34°C and track temperatures climbing to 59°C.Gabriel Bortoleto set the fastest time of the day with a 1:19.917, completing 116 laps (508 km) for Audi. Franco Colapinto finished second with a 1:20.139, while covering the greatest distance of the day with 139 laps (609 km). Over the course of the two-day test, the teams completed a total of 660 laps, covering 2,892 kilometres.The next Pirelli slick tyre test for the 2027 Formula 1 season is scheduled to take place at Mugello on 26–27 August.
