Pirelli to Host Tyre Test at Aragon Circuit

Pirelli is set to host an event at the Aragon circuit, where the Italian company will begin testing its new tyre compounds developed for the MotoGP Championship.

As previously announced, Pirelli will replace Michelin as the official tyre supplier at the end of the 2026 season, becoming the exclusive tyre manufacturer for MotoGP.

The company plans to carry out testing at Aragón ahead of the 2027 season. Five manufacturers — Honda, Aprilia, KTM, Yamaha, and Ducati — are expected to take part in the event and evaluate the new tyres. The test is scheduled to take place shortly after the official MotoGP test day at Aragón on June 9.

Pirelli aims to collect crucial data about the performance of the new tyres during this session. Additional testing is expected to follow in 2026, as the manufacturer works to refine its products based on feedback from both teams and riders.

According to reports, the announcement has sparked some dissatisfaction in the MotoGP paddock. While Pirelli will cover the costs of testing in 2025, the financial responsibility will reportedly shift to the teams in 2026, raising concerns among some stakeholders.
