The final rounds of the 2026 Formula 1 season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi remain subject to uncertainty amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East. However, the FIA has stressed that no decision has been made to alter the current schedule.FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said preparations for both events are continuing as planned, while emphasising that any decision will be based primarily on the safety of everyone involved in the championship.
“We cannot put our employees, drivers or teams at risk. Absolutely not we will not allow that. But it is also important to listen to the governments and local promoters before making any decision,” Ben Sulayem said.
The FIA therefore intends to continue monitoring developments in the region rather than acting prematurely. The final decision on the races will depend on the evolving security situation and guidance from the relevant authorities.For now, Qatar and Abu Dhabi remain on the 2026 F1 calendar, with further assessments expected as the season approaches its conclusion.
