Red Bull Eyes IndyCar Star Alex Palou
According to reports from the United States, Red Bull Racing is showing interest in four-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou. As Indy Star reports, the Spanish driver is being considered as a potential teammate for Max Verstappen. Although both Palou and his manager deny any ongoing negotiations, the publication cites sources with direct knowledge of the matter, claiming that contact has indeed taken place, although the stage of discussions remains unclear.
Palou is currently racing for Chip Ganassi Racing under an active contract. However, according to media reports, the contract includes a clause allowing early termination upon payment of a substantial buyout fee.
Interest in Palou is not new. In 2022, he intended to switch to Arrow McLaren, but ultimately remained with CGR, where he went on to win another title in 2023. Later, he made another attempt to join McLaren Racing and was even named a reserve driver for their Formula 1 team. However, that situation also led to legal action this time initiated by McLaren, who claimed Palou had breached his contract, resulting in significant financial losses. The case is ongoing and is scheduled to go to court in the United Kingdom in six weeks.
