Rookie Martinius Stenshorne Takes Stunning Montreal Victory
Following the sprint race, the championship battle in Formula 2 remained extremely close, with only a few points separating the leading drivers in the standings. Nikola Tsolov, Rafael Camara and Gabriele Mini were considered the main contenders for a strong result in Montreal, but the race once again proved chaotic and unpredictable.
Laurens van Hoepen started from pole position, although the lead quickly changed hands in the opening laps as Tsolov moved to the front. Later in the race, the Dutch driver made an error in the final chicane and crashed into the Wall of Champions, triggering the deployment of the safety car. The race was neutralised several times due to accidents and incidents, while changing weather conditions and a damp circuit made conditions particularly challenging for the drivers.
Following a series of restarts and pit stops, Martinius Stenshorne emerged as the race leader. The Norwegian rookie from Rodin Motorsport confidently secured his maiden Formula 2 victory despite another late safety car period. His teammate Alex Dunne finished second, while Gabriele Mini claimed third place and retained the lead in the championship standings.
