Carlos Sainz acknowledged that his first season with Williams exceeded expectations.
According to him, the move from a top team suggested a challenging year ahead, but the results proved far stronger than he anticipated: a podium finish, consistent points alongside Albon, and a solid fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Sainz noted that the car was often only “a few tenths” off the leaders, and he quickly adapted to racing in the midfield.
“The season was far from perfect, but there were more positive moments than I could have imagined,” Sainz concluded.
