Sainz’s Penalty Review Scheduled for Friday

During the Italian Grand Prix, it became known that the Williams team has submitted a request to the FIA to review the decision made by the stewards at the Dutch Grand Prix, in which Carlos Sainz received a 10-second penalty.

For the incident with Liam Lawson, the Spanish driver was penalized not only with 10 seconds but also received two penalty points, bringing his total to four over the past 12 months.

The review request requires the presence of all stewards who participated in the original decision. It has been announced that the meeting will take place on Friday, September 12,starting at 15:30 Baku time.

During the session, the stewards will first assess the grounds for the review, and if they consider them valid, they will proceed to examine the merits of the case namely, Sainz’s penalty. If the grounds are deemed insufficient, the request will be dismissed.
