Verstappen:“The Race Was Tougher Than Expected”

Max Verstappen had to settle for second place at the Singapore Grand Prix after a challenging race under tricky conditions. Starting from the front row, the Red Bull driver made an aggressive bid to seize the lead from George Russell but ultimately couldn’t make it stick. He then spent much of the race defending his position from Lando Norris before crossing the line in P2.

“I had to start from the dirty side of the grid, and the track was still not completely dry. We took a bit of a gamble with the strategy, but it didn’t pay off. In the first stint, I had to manage the tyres carefully to make it to the pit stop. The race turned out to be more difficult than expected, and we need to understand why. But in Singapore, it’s almost impossible to attack unless something unusual happens, so second place was the best we could do,” said Verstappen.
