Williams Set for Major Car Overhaul at Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Williams is placing its focus on the second half of the Formula 1 season, with Team Principal James Vowles revealing that the squad has yet to unveil the most significant elements of its development programme.
The team deliberately introduced no new upgrades for the Austrian Grand Prix, but its first substantial update package is scheduled to arrive at Silverstone. Further refinements will follow at Spa-Francorchamps and the Hungaroring before a major weight-reduction programme is implemented for the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort.
The most extensive upgrade of the season is planned for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where Williams expects to field a car that will be significantly different from its current specification.
Vowles believes this phased development strategy will allow Williams to close the gap to Racing Bulls and strengthen its position in the tightly contested midfield battle during the second half of the campaign.
