"Bottas Ready to Lead Cadillac F1 in 2026"

Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez will be the first drivers to take the Cadillac F1 cars to the start line for their debut race in March 2026.With a combined 527 Grand Prix appearances and multiple vice-champion titles, they bring a wealth of experience. In an interview with Sky Sport, Bottas shared his mindset for this significant new chapter in his career.

“This is truly a serious challenge, and I’m ready to take it on. Sergio and I need to remain realistic, work hard, and guide the team in the right direction. Melbourne will be the starting point, but it’s still difficult to predict how everything will unfold. We are following the planned schedule, and I am confident that the car will be ready by January.Crash tests have already been conducted, and the day for the initial shakedown has been set. Building a new team from scratch is no easy task, and the coming months will be busy.

Sergio and I have a great relationship, and we’ve always respected each other. He is calm and thoughtful, making him easy to communicate with. I am confident we will make strong teammates. Everything I’ve seen at Cadillac has been very impressive, and I’m excited to be part of this project.

At the moment, our main goal is to get the car ready for testing and the debut race in Melbourne. It’s too early to talk about specific results, but we will focus on progress and continuous improvement with each race. Our team didn’t come to Formula 1 to finish last.”
