Dutch GP Sales Slow Down
This week, Zandvoort will host the Dutch Grand Prix one of the final editions, as the circuit’s current contract expires in 2026. However, according to local media, ticket demand this year is noticeably lower: tickets remain available for all days of the weekend, including Sunday a situation not seen in previous years.
The reasons appear to be the high cost of attendance and a decline in enthusiasm, partly due to Max Verstappen’s recent lack of dominance. His immense popularity in the Netherlands had previously guaranteed sell-out crowds. Since Formula 1’s return to Zandvoort in 2021, the event has been more than just a race it has evolved into a full-scale festival featuring live performances, DJs, and various entertainment.
However, attendance already dropped last year to around 275,000 compared to over 300,000 in previous editions. Organisers acknowledge that ticket sales have slowed and say they will intensify their promotional efforts. Nonetheless, they remain confident that in 2026, the grandstands will once again be filled to capacity.
