F1 Ignites Sin City
Organizers of the Las Vegas Grand Prix hope the upcoming Formula 1 race will help counter the city’s drop in tourism. International visitor numbers have been declining, but the event is expected to boost interest.
Emily Prazer, President of Las Vegas Grand Prix Inc. and Chief Commercial Officer of F1, expects around 100,000 spectators per day, similar to previous years. Most attendees will come from California and Arizona, though interest is growing in Canada, Mexico, and Europe. The target audience split remains 60% domestic and 40% international.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, the city welcomed 2.5 million fewer tourists in the first nine months of 2025, a 13.5% drop year-on-year. Factors include stricter immigration policies, higher visa fees, and rising costs in the city. Still, Prazer says ticket sales remain strong, especially in Canada and Mexico, and demand is higher than in 2024.
Tickets start at $125 for practice and $750 for race day, and they are selling faster than last year. The event weekend will also feature a celebrity golf tournament and special activities for local children, including driver meet-and-greets.
