F1 The Movie:When Streaming Costs More Than the Cinema

As of August 22,F1 The Movie one of this summer’s biggest box office sensations is now available on several international streaming platforms. Audiences outside of the country can rent or purchase the film through services such as Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and Google Play.

To date, the film has earned an estimated $600 million worldwide, far exceeding its production budget. This remarkable performance secures F1 The Movie a place among the most commercially successful releases of the year, with digital distribution expected to generate even more substantial revenue in the months ahead.

A notable point for viewers in the United States:rental access to the film costs $19.99,while purchasing it outright comes to $24.99.Interestingly, this is higher than the current average movie theater ticket price, which in 2025 is approximately $16. As a result, viewing the film at home even with advanced equipment like a projector and surround sound can cost more than a full cinema experience, especially one featuring Dolby Surround. That is, of course, if one avoids the traditional cinema indulgences like popcorn and soda.

In addition, F1 The Movie is expected to receive a physical media release in the near future, with formats including DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD.However, an official release date for these editions has not yet been confirmed.
