FIA Confirms GM as Power Unit Supplier for Cadillac from 2029

The FIA has officially approved GM Performance Power Units LLC — a joint venture between TWG Motorsports and General Motors — as a power unit supplier for the Cadillac team starting from the 2029 season.

As RaceBrief.com reports, the Cadillac team is set to make its Formula 1 debut in 2026. Until GM's power units are ready, the team will use Ferrari engines.

Ross O’Blens, CEO of GM Performance Power Units LLC, commented: "We are pleased to have received official approval from the FIA. We are fully committed to introducing an American-made power unit to the championship."

It is also reported that in 2026, a development center will be established near GM’s technical facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, to support the growth and progress of GM Performance Power Units LLC.
