Fittipaldi:FormulaE Offers Strong Career Alternative to F1
Fittipaldi:FormulaE is a Worthy Alternative to Formula 1 for Drivers Seeking to Sustain Their Motorsport Careers
Two-time Formula 1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi has praised Formula E as a professional platform for drivers who have either been unable to secure a place in F1 or are looking for opportunities to continue their careers in a serious racing series.
According to Fittipaldi: “I believe it is very important that there is a racing category like Formula E. Many drivers dream of reaching Formula 1, but not all get the chance. Of course, there is also the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the Hypercar class, but Formula E represents a truly worthy and promising path for those who wish to continue competing professionally at a high level.
Some very talented drivers, for various reasons, have not made it into Formula 1. Formula E gives them the opportunity to remain in a competitive environment. Undoubtedly, it is one of the strongest racing series today and is developing very dynamically.
With each season, the electric cars are becoming faster, and mastering them requires increasing skill. Due to the relatively low downforce, driving these cars is particularly challenging — this presents a significant test for the drivers.
Formula E teams are supported by highly qualified engineers, and the arrival of experienced drivers from Formula 1 can significantly strengthen the squads. The level of competition in the championship is extremely tight, and there are no easy victories.
Formula E is moving in the right direction. In the near future, the introduction of battery recharge technology during races is planned, which will add strategic depth and make the competition even more exciting. This will undoubtedly create additional challenges for both teams and drivers, but such challenges are integral to the growth of the sport.
Motorsport as a whole is experiencing a period of growth. Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari will generate huge interest — especially in Italy, where I currently live. However, I am convinced that Formula E will also continue to gain popularity worldwide. Its future looks very promising.”
