Hamilton Sends Notes,Leclerc Talks Face-to-Face
Lewis Hamilton is spending the summer break in the mountains of Colorado far from the noise of the paddock and the pressures of recent results. It seems that solitude and nature are helping the seven-time world champion recharge and reflect on a first half of the season that has fallen short of expectations both his own and those of his fans.
Meanwhile, global motorsport media continues to speculate on Hamilton’s integration into Ferrari and the dynamics within the team. Following his high-profile move from Mercedes to the Scuderia, many anticipated a swift resurgence. However, the results so far have been underwhelming. Amid these challenges, Hamilton revealed that he had submitted two documents to Ferrari management outlining his perspective on the issues and proposing potential solutions.
“These weren’t demands or ultimatums,” he clarified in a later interview. “I simply presented ideas what if we tried a different approach? Have we considered doing things this way? Maybe if we had, it could have made addressing certain challenges easier. The key is keeping the dialogue going, and I’m pleased that Fred Vasseur and the team received my suggestions in a constructive and open manner.”
At the same time, his teammate Charles Leclerc is taking a different approach. His performance on track has been notably more consistent this season with five podium finishes and a pole position in Hungary. However, even that wasn't enough to deliver a top-three finish in the race at the Hungaroring, reflecting the broader struggles faced by Ferrari.
“I don’t write documents,” Leclerc admitted. “But I always come to the factory in Maranello and participate in team meetings to understand the challenges we’re facing. Every driver has their own way of communicating. Lewis has his method, and I have mine. But it doesn’t mean I’m any less involved we both want the same thing: to help Ferrari move forward.”
Despite their differing approaches, both drivers are united by a common goal to help the team overcome its current difficulties and return to the front of the grid. With the second half of the season still ahead, there is much work to be done if Ferrari hopes to reclaim its position as a championship contender.
