Hamilton:Ferrari Eyes 2026 Season
Lewis Hamilton openly admitted that he remains cautious about Ferrari’s prospects for the remainder of the season. According to him, no significant progress should be expected: the team has decided to halt development of the current SF-25 and has fully shifted its focus to next year’s project.
In Baku, the seven-time world champion finished only eighth, noting that this result reflects the team’s true performance level. Hamilton emphasized that, unlike Ferrari, their rivals continue to actively develop their cars. McLaren has maintained a commanding advantage throughout the season, while Red Bull recently introduced a new floor, which allowed them to increase their pace and remain among the frontrunners.
Hamilton pointed out that for Ferrari, fighting for podiums will only be possible with strong qualifying performances and favorable starting positions, as no further upgrades are planned. “I would give anything for the team to bring new updates, but that is not going to happen. We have to make the most of what we currently have,” the Briton admitted.
He also added that he understands Ferrari’s strategy: given their current deficit, focusing on the next season is a logical decision. However, this also means that the remaining races will have to be approached relying solely on fine-tuning the existing car and the drivers’ individual skill.
