Hockenheim Confirms Interest in F1 Return

Formula 1 President Stefano Domenicali recently noted the growing interest from Portugal, Turkey, and Germany in rejoining the championship calendar an ambition now echoed by the new owners of the Hockenheimring.

In August last year, the investment company Emodrom acquired a 74.99% stake in the circuit for €5.5 million. The group aims to transform the historic venue into a state-of-the-art entertainment destination while also committing funds to modernize its racing infrastructure.

Hockenheimring Managing Director Jorn Teske commented: “There is no doubt that we are deeply committed to the return of Formula 1,and we are pleased to see this ambition shared by the championship organizers. The involvement of private investors gives our project valuable momentum.

That said, the central priority remains the financial sustainability of hosting a Grand Prix. At this stage, our focus is on carefully assessing all conditions and requirements to make the return of the German Grand Prix a realistic possibility.”
