Kimi Antonelli Extends Formula 1 Championship Lead With Hungarian Grand Prix Podium

Kimi Antonelli finished third at the Hungarian Grand Prix, securing another podium finish. After the race, the Mercedes driver admitted that it had been one of the most challenging races of the season, as overtaking opportunities at the Hungaroring were extremely limited and the final result depended heavily on making the right strategic decisions.According to Antonelli, Mercedes initially planned to complete the race with a one-stop strategy. However, tyre degradation proved to be higher than expected, prompting the team to revise its approach. The additional pit stop allowed him to maintain a consistent pace through to the chequered flag, although the battle for a podium position remained intense until the closing laps.Antonelli also expressed his satisfaction at extending his lead in the Drivers' Championship heading into the summer break. He explained that the team's primary objective for the weekend was to minimise potential points losses in what proved to be a demanding race. At the same time, the Italian stressed that there is no room for complacency, as the second half of the season is expected to be even more competitive. According to Antonelli, Mercedes will continue working to improve the car in order to remain competitive and consistently fight for top results.
