Lando Norris Wins Miami Sprint
The Miami sprint was shaped by several factors: a long break following the Suzuka Grand Prix, regulatory updates concerning power unit energy management, and hot weekend conditions, all of which significantly altered the competitive order.
Some teams made clear progress, others remained stable, while several slipped backwards. Aston Martin brought no upgrades and failed to meet the 107% requirement, but stewards granted them permission to start. Fernando Alonso’s pace was even slower than that of Formula 2 cars.
Before the start, there were further setbacks: Arvid Lindblad did not take the start due to issues in the pit lane, while Nico Hülkenberg retired before the race even began after his car began to smoke. A minute’s silence was also observed in memory of Alessandro Zanardi.
In the race, Lando Norris maintained the lead and controlled the sprint to secure victory, delivering a McLaren one-two alongside Oscar Piastri. Charles Leclerc finished in third place.
Following penalties and technical infringements, the final classification was revised, and the event was further affected by the disqualification of Gabriel Bortoleto for non-compliance with technical regulations. The fastest lap was recorded by Norris.
