McLaren’s 1,000th GP Spectacle in Miami
This year, McLaren will celebrate its 1,000th Grand Prix, becoming only the second team in Formula 1 history, after Ferrari, to reach this milestone. It was previously expected that the anniversary race would take place in Miami; however, due to the tense situation in the Middle East, this is now uncertain.
Nevertheless, the British team plans to host a full-scale fan festival, McLaren Racing Live, in Florida from April 29 to May 3 at the Regatta Harbor area. Fans will have the opportunity to explore the team’s history, view legendary race cars, including last year’s championship-winning MCL39, experience driving on racing simulators, and purchase team merchandise. Live broadcasts of all weekend sessions will be shown on large screens, and partners will provide food and beverages throughout the event.
Louise McEwan, McLaren Racing’s Marketing Director, noted that the festival aims to bring fans closer to the team and its heritage, building on the success of last year’s event in London, which attracted 40,000 visitors. A more detailed program will be announced later, and the team will celebrate its 1,000th Grand Prix this year regardless, even if adjustments to the season calendar are necessary.
