Mohammed Ben Sulayem Re-Elected FIA President for Second Term
At the FIA General Assembly held in Tashkent, Mohammed Ben Sulayem was re-elected President of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile. He therefore begins his second four-year term at the helm of the organisation.
In an official statement, the FIA press office noted that over the past four years the Federation has undergone a significant transformation, with governance processes becoming more efficient and its financial stability markedly strengthened. While the FIA recorded losses in 2021, the previous season concluded with an operating profit of €4.7 million the strongest result in nearly a decade. It is expected that in 2025 this figure will remain at a comparable level, enabling long-term development, continued support for national automobile clubs, and the implementation of strategic initiatives.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem commented on his re-election: “I would like to thank all FIA Members for the trust they have placed in me and for the decisive outcome of the vote. We are facing significant challenges, but today the Federation is stronger than ever. It is a great honour to continue this work for the benefit of the FIA, global motor sport, and all automobile clubs that are part of our organisation.”
