Silverstone to Honor George Russell With New ‘GRandstand’

George Russell will have a dedicated grandstand at the Silverstone Circuit during the 2027 British Grand Prix, with the new fan area set to be named GRandstand.The grandstand will be located at Farm Curve, one of Silverstone’s fastest sections, offering spectators views of the opening part of the lap and the first four corners. The name is a play on Russell’s initials and the traditional term for a spectator grandstand.Russell will become the second British Formula 1 driver to have a dedicated grandstand at Silverstone, following Lando Norris.The Mercedes driver welcomed the announcement,saying:

“Big news! I’m really excited to announce that there will be a GRandstand at the British Grand Prix in 2027. It will be located at Farm Curve, and it’s a great spot with an amazing view of the first four corners. Tickets will be going on sale soon. I can’t wait to see you there!”

Russell has recorded seven Formula 1 victories and 11 pole positions during his career. He also enjoyed a memorable home race in 2026, securing his first podium at the British Grand Prix with a second-place finish at Silverstone.The new GRandstand is expected to add another major attraction for Russell’s home supporters when Formula 1 returns to Silverstone in 2027.
